Our daily schedule is designed with your child in mind. We believe that kids are often over-scheduled at home, and that camp is a place to learn and discover your passions. We offer a blend of intensive sports in the morning, sprinkled in with fun, discovery, and competition throughout the day. Remember there really are no "normal" days at camp anyway!
Rise & Shine
Guiding Principle – Start each day right
It's a beautiful day in the Berkshires. Time to get up, stretch and eat a good breakfast to get ready for the day ahead.
Period #1 – Intensives
Guiding Principle – Specialized Sport Improvement
As MJ (that’s Michael Jordan for the kids reading this!) said, “Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.” At Arrow Wood we make it happen. A 90-minute- age appropriate workout in your core sport of choice. We do this first thing in the morning for multiple reasons. First, it's cooler in the AM. Second, we believe in getting our "work" in early while you're fresh.
Period #2 – Cool Down/Exploration
Guiding Principle – Discover New Passions
This is a non-core sport period chosen by our staff to allow time for kids to explore all the other great things camp has to offer. Sailing, mountain biking, digital media, analytics, fire building, creative arts, and more, come alive in period #2.
Lunch & Siesta
Guiding Principle – The Upside of Downtime
Fuel and rest for the afternoon. Yes, we really do want you to chill out. And eat a good meal.
Period #3 – Camper Choice
Guiding Principle - Motivate vs. Mandate
Chosen every day on scheduling iPads before the end of breakfast. Why? Well, we know kids change their minds a lot. We also know that one of the beauties of camp is that sometimes you discover something you love that you didn’t even know about prior to arrival at camp! For the super serious athlete who wants to get up additional jumpers, hit additional tennis balls, or work on their pitching at softball, this is the time. For the camper that always deep down wanted to explore soccer, or tennis, or running, or kayaking, this is the time.
Period #4 – Game Time!
Guiding Principle – Competition with Compassion
The final period of the day is a 60-minute game period, which has a points system attached to it. Points are accumulated throughout the summer and posted around camp daily – culminating with the winners having a special event at the end of the summer!
Cool Off @ Richmond Pond
Guiding Principle – Connect with Nature & Each Other
Go jump in the lake. It does wonders for the mind and the body.
Guiding Principle - Fuel for what's ahead.
The evening will consist of two parts - team practices and traditional camp fun! After dinner on a majority of nights will be a 60-minute practice time for our tournament and camp teams. After practice - anything goes! From capture the flag, to socials, to campfires, to bunk smores, to movie nights, to canteen, to night swims, to DJ Nights, the possibilities are endless….
