There’s nothing in the world like the camp experience. It’s the only place where time stands still while the weeks fly by — and the memories last forever. Perhaps the biggest benefit of growing up a camper is being part of an extended camp family. It’s not an understatement to say that your counselors, coaches, teammates, and cabinmates become friends for life.
The foundation of Camp Arrow Wood is based on a century of U.S. camping tradition in the picturesque Berkshires in Richmond, Massachusetts. Located less than three hours from New York City, two and a half hours from Boston, and 90 minutes from Hartford, Connecticut, Camp Arrow Wood is a coed camp that welcomes families with children from 8 through 15 years of age for our six-week summer program. When boys and girls arrive at the camp gates, they transform from the mindset and habits of home life and fully immerse themselves in the spirit of this special place.
Surrounded by mature trees and native vegetation, Camp Arrow Wood is set on a beautiful 218-acre freshwater pond, ideal for swimming, boating, fishing, sailing, and SUPing, with other recreational water sports planned for the future. And of course, no camp experience would be complete without campfires, arts and crafts, music, and a great appreciation for the outdoors.
On the fields, the athletics programming consists of team sports including baseball, soccer, basketball, field hockey, volleyball, seven-a-side and flag football, and lacrosse, as well as individual sports, including tennis and golf. And that's just the beginning.
